Top 323

Visiting Alexa’s to evaluate Naga City website traffic feat was somewhat a thump for site that was in top 100 few years back. Despite the dropped I am still proud to say we’re still No. 1 in terms of traffic data among LGUs in Philippines. Inquirer still at top of the heap, gov.ph has the most traffic for a government site at No. 42 and YugaTech (No. 54) for a blog site, not far is (get this) a gay blog at no. 58.

Meaning? A new, better and more appealing websites came out over the years and the need for naga.gov to in tune with what’s best and appealing for surfers. I guess the answer would be (1) total redesign (2) set new standards and (3) maximize potentials, or simply go back to basics. Sounds simple enough but its hard work considering your peers who’re technically web savvy have decided to pursue careers outside of city hall. Nevertheless, Naga City website has already cliqued to Nagueños anywhere in cyberspace, may mga suki na even without promotion they will stomp their presence online. And with these followers what we need to focus is a fast loading, all-in-one, and well-designed site.

Doable? Yes, lot of work and long hours. Especially for the design people (to research and freedom on design) to test, get thumbs up from critics/society before jumping into scripts. A web standard content because presenting it over the web is different from broadsheet (everybody knows that!).

Objective? To continually maximize, innovate and imitate what internet will offer in next years.

Recognition? Win the Webby Award, go to New York and give a five-letter acceptance speech is the ultimate quest for glory.
